dying culture of sending 'cheesy, funny and touchy Eid poetry' Via greeting postcards

Eid al-Fitr "Feast of Breaking the Fast" also called [meethi Eidl celebrated by Muslims worldwide that marks the end of holy month Ramazan. The excitement of Eid started way before the actual day and gain it peaks after the concerned moon sighted. Eid al-Fitr has strong unique religious cultural heritage around the globe including subcontinent [Indo-Pak] region. The night before Eid called 'Chaand Raat' many of Muslims visit bazaars and shopping malls with their families for Eid shopping. Women, especially younger girls often apply traditional Mehndi or Henna on their hands & feet plus wear colorful bangles. At the day of Eid al-Fitr, People wear new clothes to get ready for Eid prayer. They are supposed to give obligatory charity [fitra] on behalf of each of their family members to the needy or poor before Eid day or at least before Eid prayer. This will allow everybody to share the joy of Eid and won’t feel depressed. After Eid Salat people meet and greet each other with traditional hug of friendship. On their way home, people usually buy sweets, gas balloons [often filled with bajra grains that make chann chann sound] for kids and gifts for the family. At home family members enjoy special Eid breakfast with various types of sweets and deserts, including traditional sheer khurma. The barhay buzrug or elder ones give 'Eidi' to kids and younger generation which bring real joy on their faces and make their pockets kinda warm with new currency notes. Beside all the colorful and sweet things about the festival their was a tradition to send 'Funny, cheesy and touchy Eid poetry' postcard to loved ones, friends and relatives. In Pakistan since from mid 80s due to 'VCR' culture and Indian cinema influences most of the people used to buy Bollywood celebrities based postcards which is slowly fading out from the scene due to online Eid cards availability along with social networking revolution like Facebook and twitter greetings. TimeUrdu official release note on the occasion of first launching anniversary for linguistic project

Being founder and moderator of #TimeUrdu project, Today is one of the greatest days in my life. I would like to thank all of you tweeple for some really warm support. We all are now a huge TimeUrdu family at twitter platform. Now a days human are living in a era where science is looking forward to consider emotion, Thinking pattern and intuition as part of analytical studies too. The way to express our feeling is channel of verbal communication in which languages are taken as main ingredient. In any time period of human civilization the importance of languages are never get diminish. Unfortunately languages are also utilizes in hating other people on the basis of cultural and lingual differences not only in eastern society but in western land too. Our first literary post was "nuqta e nazar" having a theme of tolerance and open-mindedness. I would like to quote one of the couplet from post "tung nazri kay bosida khayaloon ko saaf karo // zehn say farsuda makrhi kay jaloon ko saaf karo". TimeUrdu believe all the human being are equal and all the languages in this world are respectable. We recommend that Indo-Pak youth must need to be familiar with English language as it is the language of technology and latest development. What youngsters supposed to do is acknowledge their lingual roots and take pride on it. TimeUrdu gave its best to remove the atrocious tag from Urdu [language of backward people and only capable to produce poetry and ghazliyaat etc etc...] through some real progressive tweets. Urdu is a comprehensive language with all the necessary elements to voice any phenomena exist in this universe. We admit that reality a major work still needed in order to promote Urdu script too specially among teenagers. In near future we are also looking for a proper video blog to propagate Urdu in a global village. TimeUrdu moral message for the moment is eat healthy food, Wears stylish wardrobe, Make other people happy through your acts and try to speak some pure accent words with correct pronunciation. Thank you for your precious time, stay blessed.

Yours faithfully
Zubair Siddiq
